corner view :: morning, noon, night
Well...I've been here a while now, and I have to report, I often see Italians ordering cappuccini at odd times, living dangerously outside of the norms of society and the accepted dietary guidelines. I can also report, however, that I have never, ever, not even once, witnessed an Italian order a cappuccino after a meal, lunch or dinner. At this point, I couldn't imagine doing it either...all that milk on top of the meal would be just too much to digest. I would never judge you if you did, though...as long as you don't count the number of glasses of vino I consume, of course.
So...what about you? Cappuccino: morning, noon, and night or strictly breakfast fare?

Cappuccino is something that is ordered out at a coffee shop only for me, not with a meal, not made at home. I remember stopping for one in Rome in the afternoons - definitely a Tourist! I didn't know there were unspoken rules attached.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of unspoken rules here! I'm still learning.
DeleteI am tea girl so I don't drink often cappucino. But I like to drink on from time to time outside of home.
ReplyDelete3 cups of coffee is just the right amount for me (morning, noon and night). Coffee is good!
ReplyDeleteI love coffee, too, but only in the morning before work or an espresso later in the day.
DeleteI only drink espresso macchiato. However, Tom always has capuccino :)
ReplyDeleteI like it all, just not all the time :)
DeleteI am a tea girl too ! Love mint tea or hot coco! If I drank cappacino I might have one as a dessert.
ReplyDeleteI had mint tea for the first time in London last year...with real mint leaves! Soooooo good.
DeleteDeal! I won't tell on you and you won't tell on me :-) That looks yummy - I would drink it morning, noon AND night!
ReplyDeleteDeal!
DeleteWhen I was pregnant with Jericho, I'd often order cappuccino decaffeinato from Pino after my doctor's appointments. I can only imagine how much it must have made him cringe every time.
ReplyDeleteLOL...I'm sure Pino has seen it all. A colleague, fresh off the plane from teh States ordered a "latte" and was surprised to get a cup of warm milk! I never laughed so hard...with her, of course ;)
DeleteI like to drink coffee (cappuccino, espresso ...) daytime at all. :)
ReplyDeleteI can have cappuccino any time of day, I just love it so much. I'd never have it after the meal, though. Just a biscuit on the side :-). And I do love espresso macchiato too but whenever I ask in coffee shops here for a drop of foamy milk in my espresso, I get a weird look from baristas. Like they have never heard of macchiato though they work in chains that call themselves: "Italian about coffee".
ReplyDeleteUn abbraccio,
K.
