Corner View :: Begins with "L"
Andechs Monastery (Germany) February 2013 |
There is so, so much to learn about the world around us, and the cliche' of the wonder of seeing things through the eyes of a child holds true: it is a beautiful thing that can't compare to much else. This day she was able to discern tiny snowflakes in the piles of newly fallen snow and was unable to contain her excitement to discover, all on her own, that they really do exist! "Look, Papa', look! Turn your head just like this and you'll see them. Snowflakes are real. They are real! It's unbelievable!"
"L" is for learning, for learning and love, and the love of learning.

ReplyDeleteit's true, there is a wonder there in children that adults no longer seem able to tap into. children are the mirror that reflect the wonder, magic, and beauty in the world around us. what wonderful little teachers they are.
ReplyDeleteEveryday I learn with her. Somedays it's mundane things but it is often beautiful things full of amazement. I am lucky.

ReplyDeleteMonastery Andechs I visited in the summer, when it was completely green and warm. You picked a beautiful landscape for the holidays! I think children are very happy there.
ReplyDeleteYes! And the beer was pretty darn good, too :)
Deletethere you go, German snow is better (or colder) than ours! :)
ReplyDeleteDoubtful.
DeleteI attributed it to the fact that we were on the grounds of a monastery...but that's an entirely different discussion, isn't it. While I was joking, my dear daughter took me a bit seriously.
Snowflakes, they are my favourite! There is a huge variety of them and it is so magical how the light makes them shine.
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet words and an adorable photo!
ReplyDeleteI love your photo that illustrates perfectly what you write!
ReplyDeleteYes, they were pancakes made with Valentine M&M's. At least once a year right -you have to give in!
