the great chicken cook off

We gathered at the home of friends yesterday evening for a cook off, of sorts.
Friday @ 7.
Theme:  Chicken.
Bring your best chicken dish & a couple of bottles of wine:  one to drink, one to offer to the "winner."
The game is on.

Balsamic chicken.
Curried chicken.
Chicken pot pie.
Coconut chicken.
Stuffed (American) chicken breasts.

And to the victor. . .

Man, my friends can cook.
Dishes were shared.
Votes were cast.
Winners were announced --- a 2-way tie.
Kids played (mostly) peacefully all night.

Of course, the friendship is the best part.
Thanks M&D for bringing us together.

  2. Funny you should ask. It was a tie between Deanna's pot pie and my chicken curry. We split the winnings. My favorite was Debra's coconut chicken, the one with the sesame seeds.
It was fun. I'd do it again.

  3. What a super fun idea! Looks like a great night. Would be hard to pick a winner as all the dishes were different. I've seen this same idea around bacon. I've got to host a party like this some time. Glad you had a fun evening.

  4. Congratulations! I'm surprised you made a curry chicken since Richard hates Indian.

And since you're an AWARD winner, I'd love a to try your recipe. Wallace loves curry.

I've tried a few new recipes. I'll send them to you. They are total winners in our house.

  6. @katy - Bacon, now that's a great idea. At the end of the night we discussed the next event, but bacon was not mentioned. It's so diverse. . . bacon. I'm on that.

@Leslie - He is expanding his pallet.

@Kelleyn - Really, the best part is time with friends.
