cherry time

Castegnero Cherries

It's that time of year again: the time when the cherries go directly from the local farmers' trees to our table.

Castegnero Cherries

It's a much anticipated time in these here parts, and boy, does "cherry time" make us happy. The wait is over . . . bon appetito!

  1. Too bad that our friend from Castegnero went traveling - could have asked him to bring us some cherries...Now I have to look for them myself :)

    Bon appetito indeed ;)

  2. Wow! Cherries come early in Italy! In Germany and here in the states we will not see cherries for about another month. I love cherries, but can't eat too many at one time or I get a tummy ache.

  4. Mmmm, those photos are making me feel even more impatient about having to wait for ours, our tree produces pretty late, at the end of May.

  8. These cherries are the Durone variety, and are quite possibly the best cherries I have ever tasted. Okay, so maybe they are among the only fresh cherries I have ever tasted. They are soo good.
