It's that time of year again: the time when the cherries go directly from the local farmers' trees to our table.
It's a much anticipated time in these here parts, and boy, does "cherry time" make us happy. The wait is over . . . bon appetito!

Too bad that our friend from Castegnero went traveling - could have asked him to bring us some cherries...Now I have to look for them myself :)
ReplyDeleteBon appetito indeed ;)
Wow! Cherries come early in Italy! In Germany and here in the states we will not see cherries for about another month. I love cherries, but can't eat too many at one time or I get a tummy ache.

ReplyDeleteThat first shot is beautiful. Delicious. :)

Mmmm, those photos are making me feel even more impatient about having to wait for ours, our tree produces pretty late, at the end of May.
ReplyDeleteMm I love cherries! I love picking them up at a farm stand and munching on them!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and tasty looking.
ReplyDeleteYUM! And just gorgeous...what a beautiful red they are! :)
ReplyDeleteThese cherries are the Durone variety, and are quite possibly the best cherries I have ever tasted. Okay, so maybe they are among the only fresh cherries I have ever tasted. They are soo good.
