Buon Ferragosto

Huge holiday in this country today . . . right up there with Christmas and Easter, in fact.

Yes, I made that!
Thanks to some figs from Mirella, we will be celebrating later with this Fig and Almond Tart @ home while the rest of the country is either in the mountains or at the sea. After the summer away that we've had, home is the only place I really want to be right about about now, holiday or not!

Buona Festa a Tutti!

  4. Daisey -It's the second one I've made in a week. We finished it off with neighbors (who are in neither mountains or at the sea) last night.
Kelleyn - Yum. Even fig haters (aka, my husband) proclaim to love it.
Welcome Pea Knits. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. The recipe seems a bit involved, making a crust from scratch and all, but it's really quite simple. Try it!!

  8. I must have missed this post! Buon Ferragosto Dana :)
About the cake, I followed your link to the recipe. Who are all these foreigners writing about italian food??? Anyway, the british version by J Oliver is better (judging from the ingredients).
