on stability

She found the bottom three rocks already stacked during our hike through the forest and immediately proceeded to add more. Just after placing the final stone, she took a step back and let out a blood-curdling scream, startling her daddy resting nearby and waking the critters of the forest for miles. "Yep. It's stable," she reported, nonchalantly.

Because if it can handle the sound waves emitted from that mouth, it can withstand anything, right?

..............

Happy weekend, my friends! We have a weekend of downtime scheduled in the paese -- "Slow Living,"  I'm calling it. We had take-out pizza for dinner, and I have dough rising for the morning. It does feel good to be welcoming fall, and I feel more stable at the start of this new year than I have in a very long time. Not sure of the reason...but I have my theories ;)

  1. So glad you are feeling more at peace! I have seen these stack rocks all over Europe, do you know if there is any meaning behind it other than that one can stack them? Just curious! Have a great weekend!

    1. No idea! We were on a "witches hike" that was filled with one pagan symbol after another. Could the stacks of rocks be paganistic, naturistic? Or those even real words?

I have a small stack of stones collected in Sardinia a few years ago stacked on my fireplace mantal. Hmmm.....good idea, bad idea? Not sure!

  2. I love finding stacked rocks like this! They were everywhere in Japan, and we found a whole impromptu garden of them last summer while we hiking in Walden. I'm not sure what they mean, but I'm glad yours were stable!

    1. Thank you! It's a bit out of focus bc I wasn't exactly anticipating that action, and I had to act quickly! She is a hoot.
