..........

I had a quiet weekend, and though I didn't venture more than three miles from home, I found lots of activities to fill the hours. Now I sit here blogging while my daughter is at a show at the Arena in Verona (thanks to good friends) and my husband is watching the Redskins open a can of whoop ass on the Saints. Yes. I just wrote that. Who knew I could be so vile? That makes him happy, the Redskins winning. It makes most other people I know quite upset, those bonafide members of the Who Dat Nation. Personally, I don't give a flying #$%!  (I'm not that vile, folks...to drop the F-bomb...at least not in print.)

  1. Villa Schio...villa Schio - last week we were somewhere near there... My husband is from Schio (city) therefore this name is rather easy to remember. We have friends in Villaganzerla and we visit them often ;)

    1. That book has changed baking (especially bread) in our house. While I once swore by the Pioneer Woman cinnamon roll recipe, I'll never use it again. These came out much better than hers ever did ... for me, at least.

  3. Dana, you use that book, too? Brooke gave it to me this summer. I'd never even heard of it before. Where have I been? I've only tried the first recipe, but I'm soooooo impressed. The bread works. Perfect loaves come out like magic. (Sometimes my loaves are a bit misshappen because the bread sticks to the board as I'm trying to get it into the oven, but it still always tastes amazing.) Are the rolls as easy as the bread? If so, I'm even more excited to try it!

By the way, I've been meaning to email you...I just never make the time. I do check your blog pretty much every day and think of you often, though.

    1. Yes! We've been using the book for over a year now, mostly Richard. I did make the cinnamon rolls using the brioche dough, though. Easy peasy & much better (for me) than the PW recipe. We have actually convinced several people to purchase the book after they tasted bread using the recipe on page 26, "The Master Recipe: Artisan Free Form Loaf." Have you tried that one? It's his go-to recipe.

      I miss you!

    2. The brioche dough was rather wet and a bit of a challenge. Admittedly, it could have been user error! I just kept using flour until it stopped sticking. The rolls were INCREDIBLE. I did not follow their recipe for caramel rolls; instead I just used the cinnamon, butter, sugar paste inside the rolls. Yum.
