In celebration of the completion of the restoration of Vicenza's Basilica Palladiana, Linea d'Ombra in collaboration with the city of Vicenza, is hosting an art exhibition in the basilica that opens 6 October and runs until 20 January: "Raffaello verso Picasso. Storie di sguardi, volti e figure." (Raphael to Picasso. Stories of gazes, faces, and figures.)

The exhibition, which will be divided thematically, includes over 100 paintings from museums worldwide from incredible artists like Fra' Angelico, Botticelli, Mantegna, Bellini, Giorgione, Raffaello, Tiziano, Veronese, Dürer, Cranach, Pontormo, Rubens, Caravaggio, Van Dyck, Rembrandt, Velázquez, El Greco, Goya, Tiepol, Manet,Van Gogh, Renoir,Gauguin, Cézanne, Monet, Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, Bonnard,Giacometti, Balthus, Bacon and Freud.

Yes! All of those artists right here in Vicenza under one (recently restored) roof in Piazza dei Signori.

We've already received notification from Young One's school ensuring us that there will be a field trip (a short walk for them) and guided tour for each and every class in her little school in the coming months.

  3. I'm so jealous. For four years I waited for the basilica to open, and it opens on the year I leave. Shame! But have fun!
