I spent most of Friday and Saturday immersed in activities at my school with my trusty sidekick with me for most of the time. There is a very positive energy in the school this year & it's just a joy to be a part of it all, even for her. Perhaps the most memorable part of the homecoming weekend was Friday shortly after we entered the gym for the volleyball match: "Mom, I really like being with you at your school because you are so popular! Everyone knows you." Of course, her assessment of my populuarity is based solely on the fact that the well-mannered students greet me when they see me. I didn't tell her that.
Don't let those highschoolers fool you...I am sure that, not just the well behaved,all have a soft spot for you...And it was good for your baby girl to see the other side of what mama does.
ReplyDeleteI guess what I meant to say was that many...most... of the kids in the school are very well-mannered...at least to the point of knowing it's important to offer greetings to adults.
