corner view :: back roads and bridges

Some bridges we've crossed...

Canale d'Agordo / Trail to Cascate di Gares (Waterfall) / Dolomites, Italy
 Vintgar Gorge / Bled, Slovenia

Alpe di Siusi / Italy

Amicalola Falls and State Park / Northern GA

We have a young niece who is an engineer working as a bridge inspector for a state on the east coast of America. Every time I cross one of these bridges in the wilderness, where the coolest bridges exist, I think of her, hoping that a person of her caliber has recently inspected the seemingly precarious bridge I am about to cross. I somehow doubt it. I cross nonetheless. Life must be lived.

I make Richard go first. What happens if the structure is compromised? We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Sorry. Couldn't help myself.

    1. As a young person I never had big dreams to travel at all. I do ponder this irony at times. I can't imagine life without it today.
