We started with a simple and quiet candle-lit dinner at home with visiting family.
Then we visited next door where the Napolitani, Milanese, and Americani were busy making merriment to bring in the new year.
Finally at the stroke of midnight we let small children play with fire!
Toasted and kissed. . . a lot of both . . . mmuh & mmuh . . . auguri.
Oh! The Excitement!
Richard used the leftover sour cherry panettone to make us all a batch of delicious French toast.
We ate together and drank lots and lots and lots of coffee as we discussed the day's plan. A hike is in the schedule, but not before a couple of us nap. . . for sure.
Buon Anno a Tutti!

PS -- no hike today
I never thought about making French toast out of Pannetone. Yummy, especially with sour cherries. Looks like you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteThat French toast looks delicious. (Why is it that lately everytime I visit your blog I come away hungry?!?)
