A couple of toy posts lined up for this week:
The Young One has started a collection of these pocket-sized babies called Paciocchini. Cute, no? Evidently they were popular some years ago and are again breaking in on the scene: how retro! Each one has a name and an identity card which lists his or her likes and dislikes, interests, etc. Also, a diaper is included with each toy, but in our case the diaper is quickly broken (velcro) or lost, leaving the baby forever bare-bottomed.
I often think how lucky these little babies are to be of Italian heritage; certainly if they were American the boys would be neutered or all babies would have permanent diapers of some sort, which would make for some nasty rashes, doncha think?
Ha! That is SO true!
ReplyDeletehaha, Dana, you're sense of humor is great! I've never seen the Paciocchini, are they a Veneto only item?
ReplyDeleteHmmm? No idea, Francesca, now that you mention it! The website doesn't give me any clues. . . but maybe it does give you some.
ReplyDeleteThose are fantastic! I've never seen them down here either, which is too bad.
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable even with no diapers on.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've actually read that playing with anatomically correct baby dolls encourages children to have a more positive self-image and a higher self-esteem. So, I guess it's good for your little one that these are Italian dolls too! I'm curious though, are the baby girls just as correct?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've always felt bad for the Ken doll...
