Young One has moved on over to the second hand.
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl.
Plans for a science-themed party have been foiled by a nature-lovers overnight weekend field trip with strangers Young One's classmates and their families. The organizers of the excursion have had to rethink plans for hiking to waterfalls and frolicing in meadows because it just won't stop raining. Grey and wet -- that's what Mother Nature is offering Northern Italy lately. Anywho. . . what does a six-year-old girl care about the weather? She'll be among people she holds dear & it's her big day. She's starting it with breakfast in bed. The presents are waiting downstairs. The sleeping bag and cupcakes are packed. Later we'll sing "Happy Birthday" twice -- first in Italian and then dreadfully slow and without rhythm in English & all will be good.
My baby girl is six. She is healthy. She is kind. She is smart. She is happy. All is good.

Happy Birthday! I hope she has a wonderful birthday filled with nothing but goodness all year long.
