flooded

Yesterday I posted a picture of Young One having a snack at a bar across the street from her school.  It was taken several weeks ago.

That same street looked like this yesterday (and likely still today because the rain continues.)

Photo from Il Giornale di Vicenza

Our beloved city of Vicenza and several other towns in the area are flooded, badly. In Vicenza, the Bacchiglione River went over its banks yesterday morning and the flooding of the city ensued.

It's incredibly sad.
It's still pouring rain @ 8am this morning.

Note @ Noon:  The river is now within it's banks again, but it continues to rain.  Many areas in the hinterland remain seriously flooded.

  5. Does that mean her school is flooded? It really is sad.

  6. The school is flooded. The latest update we received is that it is closed until further notice. It's sad for us.
Teatro Olimpico is also at risk. The news reports say that the situation is under control now but it is still very serious. It continues to rain.
