seeing red today

We had a good Sunday together: bike ride, cherries, friends, pizza, and now a movie. I'm so looking forward to the slower pace of summer.

I just now felt the earth shake again as I'm creating this post, complete with a chorus of howling dogs. It chills my bones each and every time it happens, especially since the online earthquake map reveals a steady movement northward of the epicenters of these small quakes that continue to occur following the second "big" one in Emilia on May 29.  Enough already.

  1. Hang in there! Hopefully they will go away soon, but it is hard to be to trusting that they will stay away. Do you know what to do if they get closer? I always leave shoes by my bed. This way if glass every breaks than your feet will be protected.

    1. Thanks for the tip! As I lay in bed last night, I thought about the need to wear decent pj's in the event that there is a need to leave the house quickly in the middle of the night.

We are not alarmists, but after realizing this movement northward of the epicenters, we did agree to the need of an emergency plan. We'll start with a bag with our documents, a wad of cash, and a change of clothes. We'll also have to start paying attention to the gas meters on the cars, I suppose!

    1. Ahhh....we've been blessed with too many cherries this year! I think the season is nearly done here. Do you have a tree?
