potty humor?

We took a quick trip to Garmisch, Germany this weekend, where we visited the same bakery we've been visiting for several years now: Hobi's Backstube on Zugspitzstrasse. While I'm doubtful that anything could top a fresh baguette from even a mediocre bakery in France, German bakeries never disappoint ... partly because anything is better than bread from Veneto, which tastes much like a mix between Communion wafers and cotton. Really, that is being kind.

I used my phone to snap these photos of the two restroom doors: damen and herren. I like a bit of potty humor now and again, don't you?

  1. That photo is fantastic! Thanks Dana for making me smile. Yes, Italy does many delicious food, but I would have to agree with you that the bread is not one of their strong points. I do like the salty Ciabatta that we buy at the beach. Have an awesome week! Are you guys on winter break?

  2. Ha! You hit the nail on the head with the description of Veneto bread. Honestly, most bread in Italy is medicore to me. Although the thought of a baguette from France has me drooling right now.

  3. who knew germans had (potty) sense of humor? as far as I remember, my germanic side of the family had none!
your description of veneto bread can be applied to all italian bread (except for the real Altamura bread, from Altamura).
