corner view :: collections
(A re-post, because I was a bit early last week & I did select the theme this week.)

 Candlesticks from visits to Deruta, Italy:

Pottery pieces tossed in the sea & collected at the beach in Vietri, Italy:

Cookbooks...bought, borrowed, gifted, stolen. Some never used.  Favorite title: Who's Your Mamma?Current favorite book, the two by John Besh.

Sprinkles from far & near. I always visit the grocery stores of new places when we travel & this is one of the things I look for when I do:

Corner View is a weekly appointment shared by people around the globe, an appointment started in the spring of 2009 by Jane in Spain and currently hosted by Francesca over at Fuori Borgo. We welcome you to join us. Next week's theme is "Dinner Party." We will be sharing recipes of things that we would bring to a potluck or dinner party.

    1. I've had them for years. They are quite abundant in this southern town known for pottery.

  3. I love how you have the pottery pieces displayed. We collected a bunch during our time in Amalfi before leaving Italy and they never made it out of the bag they were packed up in when we got to DC. At this point, I have no idea if they are in storage or sailing over the seas to Japan! Hopefully the latter so I can steal your design sense! haha. Good luck on the year end chaos. It'll be over soon!

    1. I'm sure I stole it from someone else, you know. Good design is just copied and modified over and over, isn't it?
      Safe travels!

  4. The jar full of worn tiles...did you collect these on the beach at Positano? I have a jar like this and was curious in case there is somewhere else where I could look for them on my next visit. christine.flick17@gmail.com

    1. hi!
      We collected these during the off season in Vietri sul Mare. It's a little town near Positano that is known for pottery. I'm sure these are old pieces that have been tossed into the sea that eventually end up on the beaches. I think the beaches are "cleaned" in the summer, but in the winter you can find piece after piece after piece.

  5. Francesca beat me to it. Love the books but love the corks more. There must be some wonderful stories attached to those corks!

  9. The candlesticks are beautiful. I have a vase full of sea glass, like your pot shards. It's very addictive searching for those. Maybe some mosaics in your future?

  10. Such wonderful collections! The candle sticks are gorgeous. I can't imagine finding pottery pieces at any of the US's beaches ---how cool! I have a collection of cookbooks also, but my stash is not displayed nearly as neatly as yours(and I keep them closed in a cupboard). Now the sprinkles---that surprised me much---I would never have thought of that, but I find it fascinating and a cool idea!:>)
