I've been fairly absent from here as of late, but have no fear, I haven't given up on this whole blogging thing. We've just been running quite a bit lately, and when we aren't running I haven't felt very inspired to share much here. Early this morning I had my big camera out in preparation for a morning at the baseball field when I saw this happening.
That, my friends, was the little spark of inspiration that I needed . . . from the cat, no less! #luigithewondercat
Have a great weekend! I'm off to the post office and then to meet a dear friend for a spritz. I hope you have at least one spritz in your weekend.

Clearly, he should have been a panda.

il gattino Luigi
Longing to climb a tree, chase a lizard, feel the grass under his paws, harrass a bird, inspect local gardens -- he tries to escape every single time we open a door. When he is denied, he sits at the open window (as pictured) and talks to us with soft pleas or, worse, cries, howls, moans at the door when someone exits. Today I checked that his tail wasn't caught because he was so dramatic in his chatter.
I have a feeling it won't be long before our indoor-only kitty becomes an indoor/outdoor kinda guy. Let's hope Luigi is ready for what lurks in the paese; it ain't always nice.

a film debut or when you give an only child a kitty
Luigi, live.
Need a laugh? This girl of ours cracks us up.
Need a laugh? This girl of ours cracks us up.
In person, she is quite timid unless she is with those she knows very well, which makes this even more special for us.
Luigi is fine, by the way, couldn't be better, in fact. I think this may be the first in a line of starring roles for him. I hope he finds a new hiding spot soon.

She loves playing with Photo Booth, software that came on my Mac that utilizes the computer's built-in camera. It's simple, intuitive, and just the right tool for making a debut film with a new kitty. I did crop the song that she mentioned as it was sloooww and looonng, and I, of course, added the titles. Otherwise, it was all her work.
